Special Meeting October 19, 1957

It was moved by Regent Swanson, seconded by Regent Welsh, motion put to vote and carried, directing that a duplicate diploma be issued to Mr. Allan Ashley Artman to replace the original diploma granted in the College of Pharmacy, under date of May 22, 1944.

Authorize duplicate diploma Allan Ashley Artman There was presented to the Board of Regents by the Chancellor, information that Olga N. Sheldon had been appointed as successor-trustee to A. B Sheldon, trustee in the Frances Sheldon Trust; that it will be some time before the assets of the Frances Sheldon Trust can be or should be liquidated; that among the assets of this trust are certain farms in Dawson and Buffalo Counties, Nebraska; and that said farms, or some of them, are occupied by tenants, who desire to know how long they will be permitted to remain on the farms, and desire renewal of their leases, at least to March 1, 1959.

Olga N. Sheldon appointed successor-trustee of Frances Sheldon Trust Authorized to execute leases

Thereupon, it was moved by Regent Welsh, and seconded by Regent Swanson, that Olga N. Sheldon, as successor- trustee of the Frances Sheldon Trust, be authorized to enter into and execute leases upon such terms with such tenants as she deems desirable on farms in said trust for a period of time extending to March 1, 1959.

Said motion was put to vote and carried unaminously.

Authorize settlement of accident claim of William H. Wessell

From Attorney Earl Cline's office comes a report of a settlement of an accident claim with Mr. William H. Wessell who sustained an accident on May 13, 1957, while an employee of the Board of Regents. It was moved by Regent Thompson, seconded by Regent Foote, motion put to vote and carried directing that the president and corporation secretary of the Board of Regents shall be authorized to sign the following Release of Subrogation Claim:

RELEASE OF SUBROGATION CLAIM

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, that:

The undersigned, The Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska, hereby acknowledge payment by Winter Brothers Freight Lines and R. P Williams of the judgement entered by the District Court of Lancaster county, Nebraska, on October 15, 1957, in a case entitled William H. Wessell vs. The Board of Regents of the University of Nebraskam, a body corporate, docket 203, page 175, the amount of said judgment totaling Nine Hundred and Twenty Dollars ($920.00) and representing satisfaction in full of all claims for benefits under the Nebraska Workmen's Compensation Law, held by the said William H. Wesell against the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska.

In consideration of the above payment, The Board of Regetns of the University of Nebraska hereby releases and discharges the said Winter Brothers Freight Lines and R. P. Williams of and from any and all claims which it may have under the Nebraska Workmen's Compensation Law, on account of injuries suffered by its employee, William H. Wessell, in an accident occuring in Lincoln, Nebraska, on May 13, 1957.

Special Meeting November 2, 1957

The Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska met on this day for a special meeting at 9:45 A.M. in the Adminstration building on the city campus at Lincoln.

Regents present: B. N. Greenberg, President C. Y. Thompson Frank O. Foote J .G. Elliott C. E. Swanson J. L. Welsh

University officials present: Messrs. Clifford M. Hardin, Chancellor A. C. Breckenridge, Dean of Faculties Jospeh Soshnik, Assistant Corporation Secretary

Minutes Approved The minutes of the proceedings of the Board at their meeting held October 19, 1957 were approved, copy of the same having been transmitted to the several members of the Board under its order of October 1, 1926.

From the Chancellor's office comes reports of resignations, new appointments, ad interim to the University staff, retirement, and adjustments in work and salary for members of the several staffs, money being available for those purposes from former apportionment by the Board, the following action is taken.

Resignations approved It was moved by Regent Swanson, seconded by Regent Foote, motion put to vote and carried, accepting recommendation of the Chancellor's office that the following resignations be approved:
