Users are welcome to begin transcription at any time without logging in. The system will simply record any transcriptional activity by IP address.
If you do choose to create a user account, you will be asked to create a username and supply your e-mail address. Your username will be used in various contexts, including identifying what pages you contribute to and what comments you post, while your email address and real name (if you choose to provide it) will never be seen by the public.
In order to help us improve our website, statistical software may record certain information, including what times of day users access our site, which country they access the website from, how long they visit for, and what browser they are using.
We will never release e-mail addresses or real names to third parties without your express permission. We may share anonymized data with other researchers or in scholarly work describing our research.
