Prof Bessey

I wish you could arrange to take and care for, all the Glass Grain Cans and Jars we had at Fair last year. They will be torn down from where they are, and not put up again and should be utilized. You can use them in your Museum.

I will be in Lincoln on 1st Sept. to "stay" until Fair is over.

Dear Sir:

The two large snow cases I let you have, never made for my wood specimens when on exposition at New Orleans. I want to sell my collection to the state for your use. It strikes me the plan will be to place the specimens on exposition in three cases in your rooms, where a Committee from the Legislature can see and examine them. What think you! I would send the collection to you, and come to Lincoln and assist in arranging them. May I hear from you?

Prof Bessey Dear Sir:

Referring to yours 11/3. I hand you a letter to Mrs [Gorpes?]. Please de[?] it and [set?] the [care?]. She must let us have it. She had no right to take it from the ground without my permission.

I would like to have you arrange my wood collection in the two large cases. They were made for that collection. Soon as I can find time I will send the collection and go and help arrange them, with a view of asking the Legislature to purchase it for you.
