After recess.

Lincoln, Neb. December 14th. 1887.

The Board of Regents met at 3 o'clock p.m. pursuant to the adjournment of this morning.

Present , Regents(sic) Burnham,Gere ,(sic)Holmes,Hull(sic) and Mallalieu. Absent,Regent(sic) Hiatt.

The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.

The Secretary read a communication from the Faculty relating to a uniform time service: Dr.D.B.Brace(sic) addressed the Board upon the subject, and the same was referred to the finance committee.

Dr.Brace(sic) also addressed the Board by permission touching the matter of placing an order for apparatus for the Physical laboratories,which(sic) was referred to the committee on course of study.

The finance committee reported the following recommendations:

Relating to contract & bond of Supt.Const'r (sic)new buildings.

The finance committee recommend that the arangemennts between the Superintendent of construction of the new buildings, and the Steward, be approved, and that the bond furnished by the superintendent be referred to the president of the Board for approval, then to be filed in the office of the Secretary.

General repairs main building approved and bondsmen discharged.

The finance committee also recommend approval and acceptance of the work of repairs executed in and about the main building by the contractor Mr. Chas.E.Chowins,(sic)and also recommend that his bondsmen upon his contract be releived and discharged from further responsibility upon their said bond and that the Secretary of the Board be instructed to notify them of this action.

On motion the recommendations of the committee were received and adopted. t

The finance committee also r eported the following:

In settlement with Chowins - repairs extra work &c. $969.56. $375.3o(sic) of same from app'r for dep't.chem & phys.(sic)

The finance committee have examined the account of C.E.Chowins(sic) for cepairs(sic) on main building &c., as submitted by the Steward and find it correct, we recommend therefore, for extra work done and materials furnished in said repairs, the allowance of nine hundred sixty nine and 56-100 dollars,three(sic) hundred and seventy five dollars and 3o(sic) cents of which to be paid out of the appropriation for the department of chemistry and physics.

On motion the recommendation of the committee was received and adopted.

The committee to which was referred the petitions of the W.C.T.U. reported as follows:
