My Dear Sir:

Circumstances
do not seem to favor our meeting, though I have
long wished to make your personal acquaintance.
It will not be practicable for me to attend the
new meeting of Iowa State Horticultural Society at
Des Moines, where I suppose you will be, but
Mr. [?] [?] [?] goes [south?] with his mother & hopes
to meet you there. Has any move [ever?] been made
to [?]? The offices of State entomologist in this
State as in moral of the adjoining dates? Should
not something be [sent?] in this direction?
