73"BUFFALO BILL" - Park Opera House was well filled last evening to witness the five act drama entitled "Life on the Border" as rendered by "Buffalo Bill," (Hon. W. F. Cody;) ably sustained by Kit Karson, Jr., and a talented Metropolitan Company. Mr. Cody, as "Buffalo Bill," the wester judge, jury and executioner, a gentleman of commanding figure, enacted the role of the frontiersman admirably, and with his fine looking contemporary Kit Karson, Jr., was frequently applauded "Old Sloat," Joesph V. Arlington, a trapper and one of the boys, filled the bill to a nicety, and T. Graham as Jebadiah Broadbrim. A Peace Commissioner showed himself equal to any task, except kill red skins, hugging bears and willing the loyo of "Ireland," the fair Betty Mullary. Grasshopper Jim, H. having performed his part excellently, sang an Irish song and kept the audience in the best of humor. But we can not particularize, suffice it to say further that all the parts were well sustained, and that the entertainment was well received. The season's engagement will conclude this evening with "Scouts of the Plains." | 73 |
