103Amusements. [horizontal line] Music Hall - BUFFALO BILL - Considering the inclemency of the weather last evening. Music Hall was unusually crowded. From the rising of the curtain in the first act, until the final drop, the audience were wild with enthusiasm. It is not in our province to criticize Mr. Cody as an actor, because on the stage he is the same glorious, kind-hearted, brave "big boy" he was when he was living a "Life on the Border." Kit Carson, Jr., is the idea of our hero as represented by our sensational writers, and fulfilled the highest anticipations of the audience. The rest of the Buffalo Bill's support deserving mention are Arizona John, [?] Robbins, J. Graham and Miss May Marshall, "a true girl from Kildare." To an audience beauty is a wonderful incentive, and where the heroine does not excel in that gift, it is next to impossible to applaud even excellent acting. Such was the misfortune of the heroine of "Life on the Border." This afternoon will be given a matinee, and this evening "The Scouts of the Plains" will be presented. | 103 |
