THE OPERA HOUSE. - "Scouts of the Plains" was performed for the second time last evening before a good sized audience. The sensational and thrilling situations with which the play abounds are worked up naturally and with tremendeous effect upon the audience. In the scouts' acting there is nothing stilted or stagey, and both being splendid specimens, physically, of the American frontiersman, they win round after round of applause as the climaxes follow each other in rapid succession.
M'lle. Morlacchi is a graceful and artistic dancer and a more than ordinarily line singer. The performance, on the whole, gave excellent satisfaction.

We searched the microfilm copies of the two papers we have for that time period: The Michigan Argus Weekly and the Peninsular Courier. We found an ad for the event you mentioned in both papers on the same day, Friday March 20, 1874. It was a one-night-only event in Ann Arbor on March 26th in Hill's Opera House featuring Buffalo Bill, Texas Jack and the Scouts of the Plains.

The Scouts. Large Audience and Excellent Entertainment.
Hundreds of people went to the Opera House last evening to escape the excitement of the closing hours of the political contest, and to enjoy the entertainment given by the popular Scouts of the Plains, Buffalo Bill, Texas Jack, Wild Bill, and the charming Morlacchi. The Opera House was crammed, Morlacchi first appeared in the farce, Thrice Married, which put the audience in good humor for the chief attraction of the evening. The new drama, entitled the Scouts of the Plains, possesses a great deal of merit, and it is a vast improvement over the one presented last season. The handsome scouts, Buffalo Bill and Texas Jack, were warmly greeted upon their appearance by the numerous friends made on their former visit. They have advanced rapidly in their new profession, and now they are as easy and graceful upon the stage as they are when at home one the plains. Wild Bill is a valuable addition to this troupe. He is an experienced guide, and is said to be unexcelled in his profession as a scout. The peerless Morlacchi deserves that title. She is the best danseuse that has ever been seen in Utica, and in her other roles she is as graceful and fascinating as could be desired. The stars were admirably supported, and the personators of the Indian characters discount the genuine savages. The whole entertainment was amusing and entertaining, and no one will regret the time spent in its enjoyment. Lone Wolf, the Chief of the Kiowahs, says he expects a ripping house to-night. We hope he will not be disappointed. We hope he will not be disappointed. Go and see the Scouts and Morlachhi by all means.
