JEFFERSON COUNTY, NEBRASKA.

(corrections to be made in Tree List)

22. Mocker-nut. Am confident it is in N. E. part of county; will and specimens soon. 37. Red Mulberry. Have sent specimens. 43. Silver Maple. Can send specimens if wanted. 58. Kentucky Coffee-tree. In S. part. 59. Honey Locust. In S. part.

(Corrections to be made in Shrub List.) 13. Bittersweet. In S. part. 14. Wahoo. In S. Part. 32. Sand cherry. In your list is reported as being in this county, but I think this must be an error. I have been over nearly every township in the county, and have never seen a sand cherry growing naturally, or rather in its wild state. Your informant must be in error. 46. Elder. This is found occasionally along Rose Creek.

I send by this mail a package containing four specimens which I judge to be Virginia Creeper, Dogwood, Smooth Sumach, and "Buck- brush". If you would kindly give me the botanical names of these four, it would greatly oblige.

Yours very truly, C. Q. DeFrance
