attainment(sic), prior experience in this department of the Army, his admirable social qualities, and reposing entire confidence in his honesty, integrity and keen sense of justice, to hereby petition our members of Congress to do all in their power to secure him said appointment.

Resolved, that the Secretary of the Board forward a copy of the foregoing preamble and resolution to each member of Congress from Nebraska signed by the President, Secretary and Chancellor of the University.

On motion of Regent Mallalieu the resolution prevailed.

Building committees continued as construction com- with full power.

Acts of Sec. & Stew'd approved.

The finance committee reported as follows:

The finance committee to whom was referred the Stewards report have examined the same and recommend:

That the committees having in charge the Grant Memorial and Industrial college buildings, be continued, with authority to direct the construction and furnishing of said buildlings.

That the action of the Steward in the matter of covering the steam pipes be and is hereby approved.

That the action of the Secretary in the matter of the Hatch bill and military detail be and is hereb y app;roved.
