Lincoln, Nebraska December 13th .(sic)1887 .(sic)

The Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska met in regular session at 2 O'clock p.m. ,(sic) at the Chancellors office ,(six)pursuant to the provisions of the By-Laws.

Present, (sic)Regents Leavitt Burnham,(sic)C.H. Gere ,(sic)M. J. Hull and J. T.Mallalieu.

Absent Regents J.M.Hiatt and E. P .Holmes.

The minutes of the last preceeding meeting were read and approved.

Chancellor Manatt submitted a verbal report referring to degrees witheld in June last(sic)(diplomas to Messrs .Bigelow and Cathan) , leave of absence to himself;discontinuance of the Medical College, attendance; work of the fall term,(sic)new instructors, discipline (Chapel Orations);(sic)Zoological laboratory, the relation of Mr(sic)Menzendorf to the musical department.

The Secretary read a communication from Miss Moore relating to an appropriation for the Art school, which on motion was referred to the Faculty.

Communication from Billings referred back

The Secretary read a communication (for informatio[n] from Dr.F.S.Billings:

On motion of Regent Mallalieu it was ordered that the communication of Dr.Billings(sic) be referred back to him, for the purpose of expunging certain matter therefrom,(sic)and that the same be then presented to the Board ,(sic)in the proper manner through the proper Faculty.

The Secretary read a resolution offered by Regent Mallalieu relating to the standing, examination &c. of the Senior classes ,(sic)by the Faculty, which was referred to the committee in charge of the revision of the By-laws.

The Secretary read a report from the Supertendent of the farm. Also Secretary's financial report, Stewards financial report and Stewards regular report,all of which with vouchers wre referred to the finance committee.

On motion of Regent Mallalieu the Board then took a recess until 9 O'clock a.m. tomorrow.

After recess.

The Board of Regents met at 9 O'clock a.m.pursuant to adjournment of yesterday.
Present, Regents Burnham,Gere,Holmes,Hull and Mallalieu. Absent,Regent Hiatt.
