87Dec 1[4] 1886 Lincoln, Nebraska December 14, 1886 The Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska met in regular session, at the office of the chancellor in the main building of the University in Lincoln, at three o'-clock P. M., pursuant to the provisions of the by-laws. Present Regents Burnham, Gere, Hull, Holmes and Mallalieu. Absent Hiatt. Chancellors Report. The Chancellor presented his report (proof sheets) and the secretary read accompanying department reports. The secretary and steward presented his regular reports with vouchers, also bills on file in his office, also the financial report of Mr. Wing superintendent of the farm, all of which were received and referred to the finance committee : Regent Burnham was appointed by the chair to act as a member of the finance committee for the present session. The secretary read a communication from the University Senate, and that portion of the same relating to appropriations was referred to the finance committee, and that portion of the same relating to the organization of a law school was referred to the committee on Course of Study. The secretary also read communications from the secretary of the State Medical Society, which were referred to the University and Library Committee. The secretary also presented and read documents relating to contracts with Mr. Lanham claims for balances for balances due him and his assignments of the same, all of which were referred to the finance committee. On motion the Board then took a recess until 9.30 O'clock tomorrow morning. Dec 15 1886 Lincoln, Neb. December 15, 1886. The Board of Regents met at 9.30 O'clock A.
