I could bring to bear – altho
I happen to be on the most
intimate terms of friendship
with some of the most prominent
politicians of the
state, who are working for
me. There seems but very
little hope for us any more
here. Our palmy days are
gone. I have the promise that
my resigntation (compulsory
[Hunt?] resignation) will be re-considered
and can be [?],
but I must get away; and
let the Methodists have it.
