Notable People at Buffalo Bill's.
During the last two months the World's
Fair special trains from the Van Buren street
viaduct have been inoperative Sundays. A
stroke of good management on the part of the
Wild West people, however, has again placed
in motion the yellow cars of the Illinois
Central on the first day of the week and
the crowds which wish to visit Col. Cody's
interesting arena at Sixty-fourth street
are thus given quick and convenient
transportation from are down-town.
During the last week the attendance at Buffalo
Bill's has been large enough to exceed
that of any previous week during the season.
In addition to the tens of thousands of ordinary
visitors there are been several distinguished
parties, notably Gov. Flower and
staff of New York, Gov Pattison of Pennsylvania,
Gov. Brown and staff of Maryland,
Gov. Peck and staff of Wisconsin, Mrs. Mary
Davies, the-noted Welsh singer, and a party
of friends; Dr. Carleters, the eminent German
savant, and a number of friends; a large
party of distinguished prelates of the
Catholic Church who are in attendance at
the Catholic Congress, Bishops Woodruff,
Smith, and Cannon of the Mormon Church,
together with a large party of the Mormon
choir, and the American and Welsh singers
in attendance at the Eisteddfod. Buffalo
Bill's entertainment is so varied in its character
and so novel in its features that it attracts
and pleases all classes of people. Over
300 performances have been given during the
season, and only a short time now remains
before it will be withdrawn altogether.
