Scientific Department
Tabor College.

J. E. Todd,
Professor of Natural Sciences.

Tabor, Iowa, 18

I sent abstracts of all of my papers so that my work has
a prominence which it does not deserve.

I am especially busy this term, attending to my work duties
and in addition trying to get things in order for my
substitute or assistant the coming term. I here obtained
leave of absence for the winter and spring terms
of this year. I hope to spend it at the East in reading
and study. After I had arranged to be absent any
how, I received an invitation to take the Zoology
and Botany next Spring term at [?] [?]. I have
concluded to modify my original plan so as to do so.
This will both give me an incentive and opportunity
to [?] myself more [thoroughly?] in Botany. I expect to
visit [?] on my way East and see just what is
wanted and prepare for it. I wouldn't wonder if your
book would come in well there.

No more at present.

[?] yours very cordially
J. E. Todd.
