Dr [Geo.?] J. [?]
My Dear Sir
I am preparing a
paper for the American Naturalist on the [progressed?] botanical
science in the United States
during the year 1879. Knowing that
your father, Dr George [?],
is now away in the far west, I
write to you to [beg?] that you will
ascertain what botanical contributions
were made by him during that
year. I shall be under many [relegations??]
also for copies of such contributions
when [possible?].
The dates should all be in
my hands by the 10th or 15th of this month.
Very truly
Yours
