Special Correspondency of the Sunday Register LONDON, August 2. - It is but natural that a latter from London should contain a paragraph concering "Buffalo Bill," as he is at present the lion of the country. The manager of "Wild West" seems to stand head and shoulders above the statesman, Mr. Blaine. People who have been introduced to the Republican candidate for the Presidency have been courteous to him, but in no sense has he been "one of the lions of the season." There is, however, great truth in the statement that the Hon. W. F. Cody has been "an honored guest at fashionable parties." Not only has "Buffalo Bill" been receiving great homage, but the cowboys have been having a fine tune of it in the drawing-room of the aristocracy. | 201 |
