PAWNEE BILL'S FAR EAST

Where Mountain Breezes Blow

Out in Wyoming, near the town of Cody, named in his honor, Buffalo Bill spends his winter's vacation. "T-E" Ranch is an extensive property, its surface diversified by mountains and plains amid these surroundings the old scout enjoys his leisure after a strenuous season of travel with his exhibition. Here his old friends come to visit him and free from care and worry he enjoys the luxuries of his quiet home, resting from the fatigue of his summer's work and preparing himself for another tour. Thus he returns, year by year, to the scenes most dear to his heart.

PAWNEE BILL'S FAR EAST

A Primitive Home in the Hillside

When Pawnee Bill led the Oklahoma "boomers" into the fertile plains, which the Indian had given over to the uses of civilization, he founded Pawnee City and made claim to a valuable property just beyond the town site. Here he established his home. His house, he decided, should not be palatial a structure of elaborate design; but instead he build a dug-out in th hillside near his more substantial residence, furnished it comfortably but with simplicity, and decorated it with the trophies of the hunt and chase. Here he spends his leisure time in comfort and quiet.
