Corinthian Hall. - Buffalo Bill.
The celebrated scouts Buffalo Bill and Kit
Carson, Jr., with their traveling company, appeared
last evening in their new play of "Life
on the Border," written especially for them by
Hiram Robbins of Cincinnati. Despite the bitterly
cold weather, a large audience was present,
and gave frequent marks of their appreciation
of the play and acting. The company, for
a travelling one, is unusually strong, and perform
their several parts in an admirable manner.
The troupe will remain here during the
week, and those of our readers who have not
seen Buffalo Bill should not let this opportunity
pass without doing so.
"Life on the Border" is a different kind of a
play from any in which Buffalo Bill has before
appeared. It is diverted of all the blood-curdling
features which are generally regarded as
distasteful to a refined audience. The play is
similar to "Davy Crockett," and might almost
be styled a companion piece to that celebrated
production.
