My Dear Sir
I am in reeipt of your late [illegible] in answer [illegible] mine. I have [illegible] even to Mr Putnam that [illegible] in reference to [illegible]. The [illegible] I take in the subject is that [illegible] a citizen of Iowa [illegible] That the state to which I belong shall be sufficiently alive to its own interest to [illegible] this important [illegible] of [illegible] science. I may have my personal preference but am ready to [illegible] them at anay time for the [illegible] good.
As to the botanical matter [illegible] I [illegible] understand your wishes and shall proceed at [illegible] to [illegible] equivalent of $50.00 [illegible] the section you [illegible] will [illegible] have [illegible] particularly [illegible] will [illegible] have them ready days so as to reach you some time next week. You can Then judge better what I shall be able to [illegible] you hereafter. Dear Sir
I have just finished packing your box which will [illegible] office the 1st opportunity. I do not think there is any branch of American Explorer in [illegible] Towns. [illegible] I have been hoping for some [illegible] that there might be a competing [illegible] to [illegible] change In the [illegible] I specify soy 3/4 but they [illegible] some fully up to [illegible]. You will understand that when specimens are [illegible] it is for look and material when sufficient I have [illegible] full complete specimen. I have tucked in [illegible] some [illegible] that may do for the museum. The parcel [illegible] of course scattered but generally the localities come near together.
I expect to [illegible] in my [illegible] about 2 bucks in the mean time have [illegible] of [illegible] to do.

I have been thinking there may not be another so gso [illegible] move to take you in the route by [illegible] a day or so [illegible] I therefor write to [illegible] if you [illegible] through next week. I worked also like to know if I can meet [illegible] at the same time?
