Distribution of Library fund per Faculty.

(Note . ) The Faculty reported the following distribution of the Library appropriation under the prior order of the Board, viz:

General purposes $500.
Greek (Department) 180.
Latin " 180.
English " 180.
History " 180.
Modern Languages " 180.
Chemistry & Physics " 180.
Mathematics & Engineering " 200.
Geology " 180.
Botany " 180.
Political Science " 180.
Agriculture " 45.
Military Science " 45.
Art " 45.
Musical " 45.

$2.500.

Accompanied with the recommendation by the Faculty that the Secretary of the Board issue certificates to the heads of departments for the respective amounts.

Superintendence of new buildings & foundations of main building,referred.

Regent Holmes moved that the matter of Superintendence of the new buildings and the replacing of foundations under the main building ,be referred to the several special committees on those subjects, with power to act . The motion prevailed.

$3500.for College farm 1 yr.

On motion the following resolution was adopted:

Resolved: That the sum of thirty five hundred dollars be set apart for the support and maintenance of the Agricultural Experiment station, for the year beginning July 1st. 1887, the same to be expended under the direction of the Dean of the Industrial College:

For what purposes & how expended.

this sum to be used for the purposes set forth in the report of the Dean,viz:

(1)Popular experiments on the farm. (2)Observations on soil temperatures. (3)Observations on soil water- (Lysimetry). (4)Experiments upon subterranean irrigation. (5)Meteorological observations. (6)xxxxx. (7)Chemical analysis of soils and water. (8)The problem of irrigation in various parts of the State. (9)The study of the injurious insects. (10)The study of injurious fungi. (11)The study of the grasses and forage plants of the State, and for such other uses as are consistent with the purposes of this resolution.

$500.manual labor fund 1 yr.

On motion the following resolution was adopted:

Resolved: that the sum of five hundred dollars be appropriated and set apart as a manual labor fund from July 1, '67 to Jan. 1. '88,to be expended under the direction of the Dean of the Industrial College as directed at a former meeting of the Board.
