Franklin, Nebr. Aug 3 1891. Prof. Chas. E. Bessey, Dear Sir: Yours of the 27th inst. with lists of shrubs and trees is at hand. Of the Trees I have found the following numbers here: 2, 5, 19, 25, 26, 28, 29, 33, 34, 35, 36, 46, 49, 50, 51, 53, 61. Of Shrubs, the following: 8, 11, 13, 20, 21, 24, 25, 29, 30, 32, 35, 39, 43, 44, 48, 50, and Rhus aromatica, var. trilobata (Is this the same as you call canadensis?), also what I have classified as Ribes rotundifolium. Perhaps this is the same as you call gracile, although I cannot find gracile in any of the

Franklin, Nebr. May 6, 1891. Prof. Chas. E. Bessey, State University. Dear Sir: Yours at hand. I send you in a box fruiting specimens of [leymopterus]. They are as far advanced as I could get now, if you wish riper ones, let me know and I will send you more after awhile. Since I sent you the list of trees and shrubs, I have found Ribes floridum, which I think was not included in list. If you find this plant. not to be [leymopterus], please let me know. Truly, J. T. Prof. Bessey:

I would like to obtain the description of the flora of Nebraska, if it has been printed. Can you tell me what to get and from where and greatly oblige.

My husband wishes information concerning the soil and its composition in Nebraska, can we get paper or books containing desired information and where. Also what Botany is used in Nebraska? It with Latin are my favorite studies and I wish to know all I can on the subject.
