Dear Prof. Bessey:

"I want to know,
you know," the common and
the scientific names of the enclosed
flower & leaves – from same plant. It
seems to me desirable as an ornamental,
flowering plant. Will grow anywhere,
in turf or sand, in general
in fact, is [?] to [??] & so
very [handy?/bendy?].

I suppose my [?] was no
new species. [Most?] leaves, tendrils
twigs & [aerial?] roots. Its herbs [?]
at least very different from that usually
used for ornamental purposes.

Can't you send me some letters
by botanists, for my Collection?
I especially want one by Sachs.
If you cannot send one please
