I get over the stunning effect of
what seems to me to say the least,
a piece of amazing incongruity,
I will see in it some advantages
I do not now see. I
rather suspect – I do not know
anything of the [?] in which
it was worked up – that it
grew out of the old war on organization,
something new
and revolutionary being promised
to our [former?] Board, fanatically
or [?]ly, in
Mr H's novel views on industrial
education. These views
seem to me ridiculous, tho' I
must again confess that I never
saw them stated in print.
I am full of forebodings, fearing
that B[?] [?]'s views of this
kind of enterprise may only too
soon be illustrated in Ames.
We are glad to hear from you
Prof. and to know that you are
flourishing. We will move to
the Pope house soon. Prof Halstead
will have to live in town. My
wife joins in good wishes to all.
