143Dec 14 1887 Prior organization ratified &c. Therefore, be it resolved by the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska, in order to secure a more perfect establishment and organization, that the said agricultural experiment station in the Industrial college of this University, as heretofore established, be and the same is hereby ratified, and that experimental work shall be continued along the lines already inaugurated and also in other directions provided for by the terms of the said act of congress, to the extent of available funds. Appointment of Director, Acts approved. Executive Com't. That the Dean of the Industrial college shall until otherwise ordered by the Board of Regents,continue(sic) to act as Director of all the work of said station,and(sic) that his action in securing for the current academic year the co-operation of Messrs. Wing,Nicholson,Brace,Hicks,McMillan,as(sic) shown by his report is hereby confirmed. That the president of the Board of Regents,Director(sic) of the experiment station and Secretary of the Board of Regents shall constitute an executive committee which shall make all needful rules for governing the business affairs of the station and carry out the orders of the Board of Regents as from time to time made. Visiting Com't. duties and Report. That the State agricultural society be requested to appoint two of its members, the State horticulral(sic) society one of its members, the three to constitute a visiting committee to visit at least once each year said experiment station,and(sic) to submit its report thereon to the Board of Regents and the Governor. Appointment of treasurer,Dales(sic) Authority,duties(sic) Bond &c. Resolved, that James S. Dales be and he is hereby appointed and created treasurer of the agricultural experiment station heretofore created by the authority and under the direction of the University of Nebraska, and that as such treasurer he is hereby authorized to receive from and receipt to the Government of the United States or its proper fiscal officer, for any and all sums of money appropriated under an act entitled "An act to establish agricultural experiment stations in connection with the colleges established in the several states under the provisions of an act approved July 2d. 1862,and(sic) of the acts supplementary thereto" , and to pay out the same upon vouchers duly approved by the Director of said station. That said treasurer be and he is hereby required to give a good and sufficient bond to be approved by the chairman of the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska in the sum of not less than five thousand dollars. The resolution was adopted. Report of special committee on the breeding rooms. The special committee reported as follows: Your special committee appointed to investigate the complaints made on the part of certain professors,and(sic) suggested by the Steward in reference to the animal rooms now maintained in the basement of the University,have(sic) examined the cause of this complaint, and herewith offer the following report with suggestions tending to remedy the same: 140 | 143Dec 14 1887 Prior organization ratified &c.
