Prof. Bessey:

I saw in the Bulletin
of the Torrey Botanical club, you
desired specimens of [Cuscuta?]. Enclosed
you will find a specimen of [Cuscuta?]
glomerata, of which I have a number
of specimens. This species is not
found about here but is very abundant
on the shores of lake Winebago, there
is a species very common here which is
very injurious to gardens, attacking
all kinds of schrubery, destroying [sic.]
[sic.] whole fields of raspberries and currants.
I have no specimens of it in my herbarium
nor do I remember the name of the
species. The specimens I send you [is or?]
flower and fuit, perhaps they will be
