Prof. Chas E. Bessey -
Dear Sir:
Your favor received last night. About the mailing boxes I have an abundant supply. I placed an order with an instrument house several weeks ago and the order was mislaid so that I did not get the boxes until yesterday I used the tin boxes as I could get no better at the time Many thanks for your thoughtfulnes however. Now about the D. pulchellum I am unable to place the plant in Wolles algae Possibly it may be animal tissue, but I think it can hardly be possible. I will write you as good a description of it as I am able to and you may identify it as the cells change very materially in mounting
I find it always in stagnant water attached to weeds or pond scums. The color is a very brilliant green so as to be conspicuous among the other plants It resembles shreds of green paper entangled in the pond scum The masses vary | 215Minden, Neb. Oct 26 - 91
