Dammann & Co.

San Giovanni a Teduccio, June 16th 1886.

Chas. E. Bessey Esqre.
Prof of Iowa Agric. Coll.
Ames (Iowa)

Sir,

We take the liberty of
addressing you with a view of asking
you if you would be kind enough to
let us have a share of the annual
distributions of seeds, bulbs &c of
your botanic garden in exchange
of any seeds or bulbs you may select
from our lists. We need hardly
say, that it would afford us the
greatest pleasure, if we could establish
the same most gratifying elation
which we keep for many years with
several botanic gardens and more
especially with our venerated friend

the Prof. Dr. v. Regel, Director
of the St. Petersburg Imperial Gardens.

As you will perceive from our
Catalogue of Seeds last year we
grow a great many varieties, taking
at the same time a lively interst
in any kind of plants, not only considered
from a commercial point of
view, as we are growing many of them
which are only of botanical value.

We should [?] heretofore be much
obliged for your forwarding us your
index [seminum?] and trusting that
you may put us on your list of the
annual receivers of it, we are,

Sir,

Your obedient Servants
Dammann & C[?]
