Kind Sir:– An old student of yours
wishes to ask a great favor. Am at
present in Maniton, collecting flowers
from the vast natural floral gardens
of Colo. As I can perceive no Herbarium
here suitable to mount flowers in
I trust to your [?] in
sending me two, each of which may
contain our [?] specimen.

Not knowing the price of books, will
settle your bill as soon as received,
or if you will state what they cost
will forward a check immediately.

If you would be interested and
pleased will send you some of my rarest
specimens. Am told that Gray's
Manual of Botany does not embrace
an analysis of the Rocky Mountain
