"Illinois May"

Early Inside Exercises.

The day at the fair will open with a parade
at 9:30 o'clock by all of the nations represented
in Midway plaisance. At 11 o'clock
there will be a parade of Buffalo Bill's
Wild West. From 2 to 4 o'clock Governor
Altgeld and staff will hold an
informal reception in the parlors of the
Illinois state building. At 8 o'clock in the
evening there will be a grand illumination
and fireworks on the lake front. The state
of Illinois has given $1,500 and the exposition
management $3,000 for fireworks, two
features of which will be the reproduction of
the Illinois state building in fire and Lincoln's
monument.
