CHICAGO, ILL., JUNE 29, 1893.

The Forty Club were the guests of the Wild West people on
this day, the invitation having been extended by Nate Salsbury,
the manager of the World's Congress of Rough Riders and
incidentally vice-president of the Forty Club. The members of
the Club, their guests and hosts left the Van Buren street station
of the Illinois Central at about two o'clock, and when they
arrived at the grounds the Hon. W. F. Cody was on hand to
extend the hospitalities and freedom of the enclosure to his
guests. The "Key to All" was handed over to Biff Hall, and

honor. Of the performance itself nothing can be said which

stage-coach carried on this afternoon as precious a load
as ever circled about the arena or climbed the steep paths of
the rockies. Biff Hall, H. C. Chatfield-Taylor and Treasurer
Shuman put themselves in the keeping of the driver, and all
came out alive, much to their own delight. After the performance
a regular Forty Club meeting was held and the orators of
the day were given a wheelbarrow, from which point of vantage
they might best be seen and heard. Among those who availed
themselves of Mr. Salbury's kind invitation were Messrs. Anson
Temple, Max Platz, Burr McIntosh, Edward Freiberger, John
