Yours of July [?] is before me in which you say you have asked messrs [?] [?] to resend me a copy of your new book on Botany, with the request to examine it and [repost]?

I should have been phased to have done so and have me doubt that it would have reserved favorable comments from me for the name of the [?] is quite sure to give the book a favorable [?] but unfortunately I cannot do as you request since Holt and Company sent me only a [circular]?!
