ANNIE OAKLEY, the "little sure shot," lately with Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, is resting in this city. In an interesting letter of recent date she says: 'No one can hardly appreciate the full value of THE CLIPPER unless he has been to a foreign country in which English papers are very scarce. While travelling in Germany last November a gentleman accupied the next seat to me in the car in which I was riding. He could speak very little English, and I doubt if he could read any at all. He has a copy of THE CLIPPER. Where and how he got it was a mystery to me. Anyway, he seemed to know of its world-wide popularity and inestimable value. By some means he seemed to divine that I wanted it, and when I made him understand that such was my desire he promptly and curtly let me know that I would have to pay four marks (about 96 cents) for it. No sooner said than done. That amount I did pay, and quickly, too. I was determined to have it, and that at al-most any price."
