HARRINGTON'S OPERA HOUSE- One of the
most exciting dramatic sensations ever given in
this city, was presented for the first time last evening
at Harrington's, in Ned Buntline's reat realistic
sensational drama, the "Scouts of the
Prairie." Introducing the genuine western heroes,
“Buffalo Bill,” “Texas Jack,” “'Ned Buntline," and
ten Indian warriors, and the great danseuse Mlle.
Morlacchi. The drama was preceded by a terpsichorean
comedietta, written by Col Judion, called
“Love'a Battle,” and introducing Morlacchi in four
line dances. After that the curtain rose on the
“Scouts of the Prairie." which is full of the most
startling and thrilling sensational scenes and situations,
Indian battles, am bushee, burning at the
stake, death dances and sanguinary daughter,
softened by love scenes between “Buffalo Bill"
and “Texan Jack,” and the dusky maidens "Dove
Eye" and "Hazel Eye," and so vigoroundy played
as to keep the audience up to a white heat all the
time, and an a sensation may be pronounced a decided
success, and last night the Opera House was
crammed and packed with au audience that manifested
their appreciation by the most uproarious
applause. The "Scouts" will appear again at the
matinee this afternoon, and tonight and Thursday
evening.
