BUFFALO BILL.
The "Scouts of the Plains" attracted an
audience to the Opera House last evening
which filled the building from pit to dome.
The play was well rendered and proved much
more exciting by the introduction of genuine
live Indians in a characteristic war dance.
When every one on the stage had been successfully
killed the curtain dropped and the
delighted audience dispersed.
During the performance an unintentional
igniting of red fire which had been prepared
to illustrate a prarie on fire occured, and a
still alarm called out Engine Company No. 1
and Hook and Ladder Company No. 1, but
their services were unecessary, owing to the
prompt action of members of Neptune Hose,
whose quarters are in the Opera House
building.
