Four species of Hepaticae grew in great abundance Mosses were there in endless variety. Ferns were abundant, and even the Lycopods were represented by one pretty little species growing in profusion upon the granite rocks. All these were growing in or upon the partially decomposed granite, some of them having but a shallow depth of this material. I enclose in the box specimens of most of the forms we secured yesterday.
