You are perhaps somewhat acquainted with the Harvey Herbarium, a description of which I inclose. It is packed in tin-lined box and has been stored in a dry place and is consequently in the same condition as when offered for sale by Prof. [ ] It is now in my posession. I am not a Botanist and have no use for the collection, -am about to move to Washington and have no room to store it. must therefore sell it-practicelly to the highest bidder. Could it not be an excellent opportunity for your university to secure a great collection? I will deliver it free on board [ ] here at Rochester for $1000.--Do you want it?
