The Director of the Agricultural Experiment Station, professor Bessey, read and submitted his report which was recieved and referred by its several topics in part to the finance committee and in part to the committee on course of study.

the Secretary and Steward read and submitted his reports which were recieved and referred to the finance committee.

The Secretary read communicattions from the Faculty relating to appropriations for fitting up new rooms for the Library, and relating to a room for the use of the Delian Literary Society, which were recieved and reffered respectively to the finance and Executive committees.

On motion of Regent Davis the Board then took a recess until tomorrow at 2 o'clock.

the board of nRegents met at two o'clock p.m. pursuant to its adjournment on yesterday.

Present Regents Davis, burnham, Gere, Hull, Mallalieu and Roberts.

The Secretary read a ommunication from Hon. O. A. Corbin recommending a candidate for assistant in the Library, which was recieved and referred to the University and Library committee.

The University and Library committee submitted the following report;

Mr. President.
Your committee to whom was reffered the following items in the acting Chancellor's report, have considered the same and report,

1. Status and position of Dr. Warner:
Dr. Warners communication of June 8, sets forth clearly the conditiond under which he can remain, the only practical solution of this matter seems to your committee to be found in accepting no. 2 of his proposition, to wit: advancing him to the position of associate professor at $1500. per year, if the finance committee can provide the necessary funds. This your committee recommends.

2. Promotion of Principal Bennett:
Your committee recommend that he be advanced to an associate professorship, and that his title be "as-
