29$15. to Procure Metal Case for Files &c. by Sec. Regent Hiatt offered the following: $10. Appropiated to Pay Add. Exp. of Calesthenic Room Also the following by Regent Hiatt: B. H. Culven Retained for the Year Regent Mallalieu moved that the services of instructor B. H. Culven be continued until the close of the present academic year, at the same salary as heretofore, which motion prevailed. Military Dept. Art. 2. of Reg'l Adopted June 13, 84, Re-considered (see pg. 10) A communication was received from the faculty, and read by the secretary, relating to the military drill, course of study &c, and the same was received and ordered filed. Same Regent Burnham moved that the vote by which the 2nd. article of the regualtions for the military department, was adopted by this board, June 13th. 1884 (see page 10 this record) be re-considered: which motion prevailed. Substituted for Action of June 13. The question now recurrinf on the adoption og the regulation, Regent Hiatt moved that the 1st., 2nd., and 3rd. items mentioned in the communication of the faculty, just received and relating hereto, be adopted in lieu of and substiteted for the action of the board of June 13/84, adopting said art. 2nd., and which recommendations read as follows: Attandance & Discipline &c. 1st. That the military department should be upon the same basis as regards attendace, discipline &c., as the other departments of the university. 6 Consec'y Terms of Drill 2nd.
