Dear Sir:-

We have given your favor of Oct. 28th due consideration and enclose herewith a cut of another balance which we think is probably best suited to your purpose. This with case will cost $85.50 net and without case $49.50; it is a much stronger balance
than the one referred to in our letter and will stand a load of 5 kilos easily and will be sensitive under a load of 3 kilos to 10 m. g. as you specify. The balance referred to in our letter is of light construction and we do not think would be serviceable for any length of time. If this style should be furnished we would prefer strengthening the beam and hangers, etc which would cost probably $10 extra and it would then not stand a load of over 3 kilos. The balance we now recommend is very well made and we think it will give you great satisfaction. It is impossible to obtain a balance such as you want cheaply as one that will stand the load you desire and be as sensitive, requires just as careful workmanship as one of much less load and sensitive to a considerably higher degree. We can import balance for you which will do your work very well but they will be higher in price than the one re-
