I have not forgotten my hopes dear Professor
touching botany in this University; nor have I abandoned
them. I feel that time, successful legislation,
the growth of the institution and a growing appreciation
of the work on the part of some of the regents will bring
about some measure of good beyond what has
thus far been [?] out to us. Poverty & lack of
facilities have thus far discouraged our board; but
when they see the work requires another worker I
think the question between a good man and a
growing man (you understand how that term is used) with a
strong element of uncertainty surrounding him will be sttled in the
right way.

Sincerely Yours
C. W. Hall
