same consistency as the gelatinous layer
beneath the skin only this in the centre
is firmer and not so transparent

Explination of Figures

Fig 1 is the whole fruit. The dark
lines running towards the
centre of the bottom represent
wrinkles–

Figs. 2,3., &4. Successive slices.
[alpha] - Outsie skin
[beta] - gelatinous layer.
[gamma] - Spore bearing tissue
∂ - A firm white tissue.
[epsilon] - Cellular sheath around
[phi] - Gelatinous centre.

Professor if you can tell what it is
from my description will you please let me
know? It was, I think, living on decaying
wood.
