of Honor" arrived issued
by the Com. of Awards to
"Mr. & Mrs. J. G. Lemmon for
herbaria and paintings illustrating
flora of California,"
a poor, cheap, paste-board
thing which comes in lieu
of medals, certificates, and
$190 in cash promised by
the Com. at the close of
the fair. We have
sent a Power of Atty. to
Mr [?] & requested him
to try & get something more
for us.

So you will not expect
us again at New Orleans
however pleasant it may be
there this winter.
