our cellar, but Mr. B[?]
says it will do no good
to try and get it out for
a few days yet, as the
[?] is so full of water
that it will come right
back again. The children
all keep well – tho the
heat makes them uncomfortable
& occassionaly cross
and fretful. [?] has had
heat rash on his back for
some days – yesterday he
made this remark, [sic.]
"If I was a dog I would
scratch it with my hind
leg."

Now my beloved – whom
