The article
you ask for was written in 1879,
while the departure was in Lesson
A Mr. S. Lanchfield (??) was a
member and a bitter opponent of
the College. He has been a member
of your Board and always [?]
[?] [?] of Michigan as
compared to the Iowa Agricultural
College. As the Lansing Republic
can goes to every member of the
[Board?] I took occasion to
send an account of your college
where they would be likely to see
it. I wrote wholly as a friend.
