I have just read,

at your respect they had sent to
me a copy of your book; and
also information in a letter
from my wife that it had been
received. I am sorry that [?]
[?] absence from here I cannot
read it and make a final notice
of it for [your?] scientific paper.

I am sure however that it will
do you credit and command a
sale. I shall contribute all I can toward
the letter.
