Your lettter asking me to
examine and give my opinion of your
work on Botany has reached me after considerable
delay. It will give me great
pleasure to examine your work especially
as the prospectus of it indicates an effort
to correct many of the deficiencies of [other?]
textbooks now in use. We begin this full
under the reorganized A & M College of Ky
and I shall feel free to adapt such works
in that [res't?] as seem best adapted to
our wants. I have already adapted
[?] Zoology of the Science published by
Hewey Holt & Co.

[?] excuse delay. I expect to close my
summers work non the Ky Geol Survey this month
