GRANS OPERA HOUSE. -- Buffalo Bill and his Pawnee Chiefs had a $1,000 house last night. The gallery and family circle were literally packed with boys, and never were actors more enthusiastically applauded than Bill, Nellie, Red Eagle and the donkey. The wild-horse dance was true to the life, and was performed by real Indians with regular built tomahawks and spears. Cody's rifle-shooting is something marvelous, and excels the marksmanship of Frank Frayne, Carver and Bogardus. The play, the Knight of the Plains, was written by an old plainsman, Col. Ingraham, a son of the celebrated preacher-novelist of Mississippi. It contains blood and thunder enough to satisfy the most sanguinary taste, and is not without literary merit.

GRAND OPERA HOUSE.

Ingraham's realistic border drama, the Knight of the Plains, is one of those wild, extravagant productions that affords ample scope for the display of physical courage and daring, and Buffalo Bill and his savage coadjutors possess the right metal to give it force and effect. In such hands the play has become quite popular, as the crowded and top heavy audience attests. The piece is extremely quick in movement, and abounds in thrilling situations and blood-curdling effects. The gambling scene is "immense." The characters are all well sustained, and Cody is making a good actor of himself. The Knight will be given this evening.

GRAND OPERA HOUSE.

Maj. Burt's border drama, May Cody, or Lost and Won, has proved a success, and will be repeated this afternoon and to-night. The most wonderful part of the play is the rifle shooting of Buffalo Bill. He shoots with accuracy standing, sitting, lying and stooping, backward and forward, taking aim from a looking-glass, knocking an apple from the head of a young lady, and brushing the ashes from a cigar in the mouth of a man. The Mountain Meadow Massacre forms the most thrilling scene in the piece, and the tricks of the trained donkey are very laughable. On Monday the great Fatinitza Comic Opera Company, from the Fifth Avenue Theater, will commence a week's engagement. The finest troupe on the stage.
