The Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska met on this
day for a special meeting at 8:30 P.M. in the board room, Administration
Building on the city campus.

Regents present:
C. E. Swanson, President
J. G. Elliott
Richard E. Adkins
Frank O. Foote
J. L. Welsh
B. N. Greenberg

University officials present:
Messrs. Clifford M. Hardin, Chancellor
A. C. Breckenridge, Dean of Faculties
Joseph Soshnik, Comptroller
John K. Selleck, Corporation Secretary
Carl A. Donaldson, Business Manager

Alsp present as a visitor was Sabahattin Ozbek, Rector of Attaturk
University in Turkey.

Minutes approved

The minutes of the proceedings of the Board at its meeting held
October 21, 1959, were approved, copies of the same having been transmitted
to the several members of hte Board under its order of October 1, 1926.

From the Chancellor's office come reports of resignations, new
appointments, leave of absence requests, adjustments in work and salary,
retirement and deceased persons. Money being available for those purposes
from former apportionment by the board, the following actions are taken.

Resignations approved

It was moved by Regent Greenberg, seconded by Regent Welsh, motion
put to vote and carried, that the following resignations be approved as
recommended by the Chancellor's office.

RESIGNATIONS

James G. Allen, M.D., Clinical Associate, College of Medicine,
without salary, effective November 1, 1959.

Donald F. Engel, Assistant Extension Animal Husbandman, effective
October 31, 1959.

Elva J. Hehnke, Head Nurse, School ofNursing, effective October 1,
1959.

Morris L. Hemstrom, Extension Animal Husbandman, effective
October 31, 1959.

Isiah Lukens, M. D., Clinical Associate, College of Medicine,
without salary, effective November 1, 1959.

Strother Barton Marshall, Instructor in Surgery, College of
Medicine, without salary, effective October 1, 1959.

Oliver C. Nickum, Instructor in Internal Medicine, College of
Medicine, effective September 14, 1959.

Joyce U. Peterson, Assistant Head Nurse, School of Nursing,
effective October 1, 1959.

Doris Spragg, Director of Dietetics and Instructor in Internal
Medicine, effective November 1, 1959.
