335Special Meeting The University of Nebraska cooperated with the City of Lincoln in the employment of Harland Bartholomew and Associates for the purpose of preparing recommendations for the location of the Interstate Spur. These recommendations were submitted in the form of a report dated May 1958. 2. The University advised the City Council that it would strongly oppose the establishment of 16th and 17th Street as major arterials which would pass through the campus. 3. The University expressed a hope that, if the diagonal was established east of 17th Street, portions of 16th and 17th Streets would become an internal part of the campus. 4. The University has expressed its concurrence in the recommendations submitted by Harland Bartholomew and Associates in its report of May 1958. The University recognizes the desirability of a Northeast Diagonal and strongly urges the City Planning Commission and the City Council to resolve this problem so that their recommendations can be given early consideration by the State Highway Department and the FederalBureau of Public Roads. Sheldon estates From the Chancellor comes a report that the special committee on Sheldon estate assets (Regents Swanson, Welsh and Greenberg) have revised and approved general plans for liquidation of certain investments received by the Board of Regents from the Frances Sheldon and the A. B. Sheldon estates. In order that certain assets may be transferred to purchasers, it is necessary that authority be vested in individual officers of the University to execute appropriate documents. Such authority will be used in disposing of specific assets only after approval has been given by the special committee on heldon estate assets. It was moved by Regent Welsh, seconded by Regent Greenberg, motion put to vote and carried, that the following resolution be adopted: R E S O L U T I O N RESOLVED: That any of the following officers, to wit: John K. Selleck, Corporation Secretary of the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska or Joseph Soshnik, Assistant Corporation Secretary of the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska anc Comptroller of the University of Nebraska, be and each of them is hereby fully authorized and empowered to transfer, convert, endorse, sell assign, set over and deliver any and all shares of stock, bonds, debentures, notes, subscription warrants, stock purchase warrants, evidences of indebtedness or other securities now or hereafter standing in the name of or owned by this Corporation, and to make, execute and deliver, any and all written instruments of assignment and transfer necessary or proper to effectuate the authority hereby conferred. There being no further business, the Board adjourned.
